Introduction

The Hagger One-Name Study

What is the study about?

The Hagger One Name Study, is being co- ordinated by Peter Hagger. It was started towards the end of 2003 after Peter and Martin Hagger attended a seminar organised by the Guild of One-Name Studies. The study is registered with the Guild of One-Name Studies and the names registered with the Guild are Haggar, Hagger, Hagar and Hager. However, we are also collecting information on a number of variants including: Haga, Hagar, Hager, Haggar, Haggarjudd, Haggaer, Hagger, Haggers, Haggerwood, Haggor. The study aims to collect as much information about people with the Hagger name, construct family trees and where possible prove a connection between families. The study is also interested in establishing the possible source or sources of the name. Elsewhere on the site you will find a page dedicated to listing the types of data we hold in our database and how many family trees we have in various stages of completion. We also have a DNA study and you will find details of that study HERE.
You can also find details of the information we have gathered on the origins of the Hagger name. Elsewhere we show information on migration and occupations. We also have a set of pages about individual Hagger Ancestors and Families and a list of those can be found here.
